On the occasion of TRAFFIC's 50th anniversary celebrations, and as part of London Climate Action Week 2026, TRAFFIC is delighted to be hosting the in-person launch of Thomas Crowther's landmark book, Nature's Echo. It explores the phenomenon of powerful feedback loops, and how we could harness them to help restore a world where revival of local biodiversity improves the livelihoods and wellbeing of local people, and change becomes truly sustainable.

Whenever people are intrinsically motivated to protect the environment around them, they become an integrated part of a natural feedback loop that can quickly gather momentum.

Thomas Crowther is professor of global ecology, president of the Branch Institute, founding chair of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, and founder of Restor, the world’s largest platform for nature sites.

The book launch will take place at The Francis Crick Institute near Kings Cross Station in London, with a talk by the author at 1730 followed by a reception at 1830.
