An ETIS manual for Cameroon

Cameroon, 30th November 2011—TRAFFIC has published a manual on monitoring illegal trade in ivory and other African elephant products through the Elephant Trade Information System (ETIS).

TRAFFIC manages ETIS on behalf of Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Speices of WIld Fauna and Flora (CITES). The database contains several thousand ivory and other elephant product seizures, dating back to 1989. An analysis is carried out ahead of each Conference of the Parties to CITES to inform elephant-trade related decision making, particularly regarding ivory trade. The new manual is tailored to a Cameroon-based audience.
