Five arrested for smuggling marine turtle skins

A 3 year undercover operation by Mexican authorities and the US Fish and Wildlife Service has led to the arrest of 5 people for their alleged role in smuggling more than 700 tanned skins of marine turtle, caiman, python and other protected species, plus more than 100 items, such as boots, belts and wallets, manufactured from the skins between Mexico and the US, according to a USFWS news release.
