22 kg tusk posted to China

On 24 November 2009, Shanghai Customs found a 1.4 m long elephant ivory tusk weighing 21.5 kg in a parcel posted from Japan a month earlier. It was posted to the same address with the same description of goods as a parcel sent in June from Uruguay. This year Shanghai customs has uncovered three instances of ivory smuggling and confiscated 4 tusks and 4.28 kg of other ivory products, reports people.com.cn
