Police clamp down on illegal trade in Guangzhou, China

Forestry Policemen have arrested 8 people suspected of smuggling threatened wildlife, according to a CCTV report. 104 pangolins (23 of them alive), 3 monitor lizards and 16 bear paws were seized.

In July, the same suspects had been arrested and 134 geckos, 9 monitor lizards, 72 pangolin and 16 bear paws seized. However, they escaped so the police had kept the wildlife market under surveillance and managed to rearrest the suspects and seize further illegal wildlife products in September.
