5-year prison terms for Gir Lion poachers in India

A gang of 16 poachers has been sentenced to 5 years each in jail for killing Asiaric Lions in Gir, India, reports The Times of India

AHMEDADAD: In a landmark judgment in any wildlife poaching case in the
country, a tribal gang of 16 from Katni in Madhya Pradesh was sentenced to
five years' rigorous imprisonment for killing Asiatic lions of Gir by a
Bhavnagar court.
