Monitor lizards seized in Guangxi Province

Border police in Guangxi Province, China, have confiscated 50 monitor lizards on a bus bound for Beihai, reports the Xinhua news agency

Following a tip-off that wildlife would be smuggled from Vietnam inrto China, border police in Guangxi Province checked all bus and toll stations in the region and discovered a bus with a cargo of 50 monitor lizards on 29 July. Two suspects were detained and further enquiries are ongoing.
